‘Veep’ Interview: Three Scenes With Anna ChlumskyPosted: May 13, 2013
Here at Ology, we love to get inside the heads of our favorite actors and figure out just what went into making our favorite moments of our favorite shows. It’s a game we like to play called Three Scenes, where the people behind the characters explain–in their own words–the story behind some of their biggest moments on the show. Here, Veep star Anna Chlumsky recalls some of the most memorable scenes she’s had playing Amy in Season 2.
Favorite Scene In Season 2
“Oh, gosh! Chung [Randall Park] beat-boxing! I just can watch it all day. I can watch it all day in the subsequent scene with Selina [Julia Louis-Dreyfus] and Gary [Tony Hale] discussing how easy it must be to beat box because it’s just spinning. The whole beat box sequence I think so far has been my favorite. [Laughs] I believe they broke—Julia and Tony—they have this chemistry and they can just read and have this power to break each other a lot. And it’s such a loving thing to watch. [Laughs]”
The Most Challenging
“Challenging I would say, of the ones that aired so far, I think doing the balance. Amy goes to the hospital this season and to show that yes, this is her family, but in a very small amount of time I kind of had to establish—and so did my fellow actors—had to establish who we were and what our family dynamic was. Like in an instinct with very few lines. So that was challenging, but it was also really rewarding when you know its really just living it out.”
